About Us

Our Mission: To unite Telugu speaking community who live in South Africa from Andhra Pradesh with focus on the welfare, growth and empowerment and provide the right platform to engage with the motherland in ways and means and address social, cultural and educational NEEDS of South African Telugu Community.

Andhra Association of  South Africa ( AASA ): AASA was founded in Midrand, Johannesburg in 2017 was incorporated in the same year as a not-for-profit organization. AASA’s mission is to unite Telugu speaking community who live in South Africa from Andhra Pradesh with focus on the welfare, growth and empowerment and provide the right platform to engage with the motherland in ways and means and address social, cultural and educational NEEDS of South African Telugu Community.

AASA shall strive to promote the Telugu culture and local community services in South Africa. AASA promotes the community gathering to bring all the Telugu community on the same stage to celebrate Telugu festivals and Telugu culture. We organize community events, educational / cultural forums to bring people together and educate ourselves about the challenges faced by Telugu community for possible resolution. AASA would be involving in organizing cultural and family events to help strengthen community bonds among Telugu community in South Africa.

As part of serving, AASA organized first event for members to meet and greet, know each other in the name of “Karthika Maasa Vana Bhojanalu” at Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday, 12th November 2017 and briefed about AASA activities and services for the community. Over 500 members attended with friends, families and children, participated voluntarily in games, cultural programs and made the event successful.

AASA extends warm welcome to all Telugu speaking community to be part of this exciting journey with open mind and requesting your kind cooperation and support for Telugu language, Telugu Culture with primary vision of providing Charitable, Community, Cultural and Social services with mutual respect in South Africa and Navya Andhra Region.

Our Ex President Sri Sekhar Geda from Andhara Pradesh, said we will strive to promote Telugu culture and community services throughout the South Africa by organizing more community gatherings like these going forward and will also contribute wherever possible towards the development of new capital city “Amaravathi” the vision of Andhra Pradesh.
